Under the picture: The fame made him lonely: Bill Kaulitz was missing during the “Tokio Hotel” success years a caregiver

From 5th January, the twins Bill and Tom Kaulitz (23, Tokio Hotel) sit next to Dieter Bohlen (58) in the DSDS jury. Before they stir vigorously the drum to speak in several interviews about their new job, their life and love. Here Bill also stated that he wasn’t in love since he was 14 years old.

”I lack, in this fast life, the constancy. I’ve always longed to have someone who’s just there,” said Bill in an interview with the magazine “BUNTE”.

”Of course I have Tom. I’m incredibly glad that we are brothers. As a solo artist, I could not work.”

Two years ago, the boys ducked under, moved to Los Angeles, there tried to find a new home - with a private life. Far away from stalkers and “a life like in prison.”

Is a return to Germany not an option?

“We get bored quickly. It may be that in a few months we come back to Germany,” said Tom Kaulitz to “BUNTE”.

His brother Bill has already outed himself as a supporter of German Chancellor Angela Merkel. “The policy of the Chancellor is understandable and comprehensible. For me, Merkel is a popular figure,” said Bill Kaulitz of the magazine “Digital TV”. Merkel mediates the “mom” syndrome. “With her I have the feeling to be in good hands,” added the singer.

A new Tokio Hotel album is also in the works. Which gets realeased only “when our feeling tells us that everything is perfect.”

BUNTE article

In the picture: Celebrated. Tom Kaulitz, Gustav Schäfer, Georg Listing und Bill Kaulitz after their performance at the Echo 2007.
Next to the picture: “We were FOLLOWED day and night by lunatics!”
Sentence above the red line: “Our life in L.A. is more free than it ever was.”
Next to the picture on the right bottom: INTERVIEW. Bill and Tom Kaulitz with BUNTE-journalist Kirsten Reineke.

Only a few minutes to separate them: Tom Kaulitz was born in 1989 at 06:20, his twin brother Bill ten minutes later. The younger Dieter Bohlen calls, 58, “a gift from God”. Not from this world. And indeed, Bill Kaulitz looks with his feminine facial features and the shrill clothes like a creature from another planet. Tom, however, is boyish, a young womanizer.

The 23-years-old brothers do everything together. From 5th January they’re both a part of the judges of “Deutschland sucht den Superstar”. A little sensation, because despite their success with the band Tokio Hotel (sold over eight million copies), the boys have gone into hiding two years ago.

You moved in 2010 to Los Angeles to take a break. Why you’ve left Germany?
Bill Kaulitz: We longed for a home and a private life. That was no longer possible in Germany.
Why?
Tom Kaulitz: could not go outside without being photographed or besieged by lunatics. That was a nightmare.
Bill: We had security around us 24/7, lived like in prison, behind a two meters high opaque fence.

Tom, you said once in an interview: It’s scary what kind of sick and dangerous people are out there.
Tom: There are people who have given their lives for Tokio Hotel. A love-hate relationship. They want to control our entire life. All employees who have entered our house, were spied on - whether a cleaner or a craftsmen. This has nothing to do with being a normal fan.
Bill: A 24 hours psychological terror!
Tom: It was as if you have a spy on the neck. They were incredibly well organized. We just thought: How can they know where we are now? And this even though we worked together with the police.

Can you explain their obsession?
Tom: They’re so dangerous, because they have nothing left to lose. All their problems, they project completely on us.

How far these stalkers are went?
Bill: They didn’t had any limits. To those, every means was good to get some feedback from us.

No one could handle that. When it was finally enough for you?
Tom: When they pushed us off the street with their car.
Excuse me?
Bill: We were in the car with family members. Towards our family and friends we have a natural protective instinct, like everyone does. If these people get too close to your family, you act instinctively.

You’ve compared your life with Britney Spears life. Could you empathize that she has shaved bald?
Bill: I can understand her situation 100 percent. Behind this lies a desire for freedom, you don’t want your life to be determined by other people. And if you want to be bald from one day to another you just do it.

How much youth you’ve lost because of Tokio Hotel?
Tom: We had a great time, of course, back then, we never want to miss. What was taken from us early, is the ease.
What do you mean?
Bill: We did have a company with 15 years with lawyers, tax advisors and managers. Everything on our payroll. But that was a good thing. We hate superiors

Bill, you couldn’t fall in love since you were 14. Also, because you have a problem with it to trust people. How much do you miss this love?
Bill: I lack, in this fast life, the constancy. I’ve always longed to have someone who’s just there. Of course I have Tom. I’m incredibly glad that we are brothers. As a solo artist, I could not work.

Why you moved to Los Angeles and not somewhere else?
Tom: We have not gone there in order to live a glamorous life. We have there our studios, were able to withdraw privately.
Bill: Our life is more free than ever! We especially enjoy the work on our new album, we’re working on it every day.

How long will you live in the U.S.?
Tom: We are quickly bored. It may be that in a few months we come back to Germany.

Bill and Tom Kaulitz wanted to move to India - the album has to wait

Goodbye Los Angeles, Hello Bollywood? Quite possible that Bill and Tom from Tokio Hotel move to India soon - at least for a while. This secret revealed Bill and Tom with the TV Program Guide ‘Digital TV’ in the interview.

“This is a big wish of mine, because it is a country in which we were not on the road,” said Tom. “Our desire to India was actually aroused by the fact that we have heard so many positive things about it. I will definitely make soon a motorcycle tour through India.”

Thanks to Tokio Hotel is “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” (airs on January 5th at 20.15 clock on RTL) in the 10th Season again on top form, as the twins Bill and Tom complement the judges around Dieter Bohlen. “With him, the cooperation is working very well,” said Bill. ‘DSDS’ is the most successful German talent show and provides the most realistic start into the music business.”

Contrary to the general trend of sinking ratings at castingshows can see the two an upswing: “More and more artists currently decide to be a part of the judges of a talent show, for example Britney Spears, Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler and Mariah Carey,” reports Bill. “The condemned live longer. I am also convinced that talent shows currently invent new. Where else you can guaranteed a number-one hit and sometimes global popularity? The Americans know that long ago,” adds Tom.

Although the twins have no favorite song by Modern Talking (”That was not really our time”), but they are based more on Aerosmith: “This is a band started incredibly early and still stands on the stage - a Legend has shaped the generations and their own sound,” says Bill.

In addition, there is one other person, as their big fan outs himself heartthrob Bill: German Chancellor Angela Merkel. “The policy of the Chancellor is understandable and comprehensible. For me, Merkel is a popular figure. It gives the ‘Mama’ syndrome. With her I have the feeling to be in good hands.”

Of the new album from Tokio Hotel fans have to wait a little longer: “There is no exact date for release,” said Bill. “We will release it when our feeling tells us that everything is perfect. Currently, we still write and produce."

BUNTE preview by BTK Twins Archive

DSDS 2013: Bill and Tom Kaulitz in the interview make a clear announcement.

Bill and Tom tell you why they have chosen to be a part of the DSDS judges. The tenth season of “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” starts on 5th January 2013, at 20.15 clock on RTL. This time, the twins Bill and Tom Kaulitz are besides Mateo of Culcha Candela and Dieter Bohlen a part of the DSDS judges. In the interview, the two reveal why they have decided to part of the judges of “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” 2013, and provide valuable advice to candidates.

What motivated you to accept the job as a judge on DSDS?
Bill: We have tired in past years to pull us out completely from the public to go to the studio and especially to take a break. This year, the request of DSDS just fit, and we can realize well, next to the current and ongoing work in the studio.
Tom: So far we have canceled all such offers.
Bill: We have also always said that if we are judges somewhere, then in the original and the biggest show.
Tom: The very last kick has given us then Steven Tyler, he was last year a judge in the American version of DSDS (American Idol).

Why do you think DSDS is so successful?
Bill: I think it’s the show with the highest quality production and gives the winner is the biggest platform for commercial success.
Tom: DSDS has almost something traditional. It is the classic casting format and therefore likely to prevail.

DSDS judge Bill Kaulitz: “I will recognize him immediately if he or she stands in front of me”

Which skills/talent the new Superstar should have?
Bill: If it fits, it fits! I will recognize him immediately if he or she stands in front of me. Basically I want however strong characters, individuality and recognition!
Tom: In addition, we would be happy to female applicants with genuine talent. In Germany there are not enough good female artists!

What advice do you give to candidates?
Tom: To all the girls I can tell you; Put on something short! Then you’ve already managed it half! This is a man’s jury. All guys: Stay at home if you can not sing!
Bill: Prepare yourself well, I have no desire to hear lyrics fails or to guess melodies. Pick out the song that you can sing best and not the hardest.

You’ll be strict judges?
Tom: Yes!
Bill: At least I‘ll try to be honest.

Are you looking forward to your fellow judges?
Tom: Of course! That will be quite funny. Dieter Bohlen stands for DSDS. Mateo we do not know, but we’re curious and look forward. We weren’t in Germany for a long time and give us now with DSDS again fully charged before we’re again with the band who knows where the road.
Bill: We are looking forward to be a part of the tenth season of DSDS along with Dieter Bohlen.

Tokio Hotel Twitter (18.12.2012): Tokio Hotel trending MADNESS :D Thanks Aliens!!!

Bill Kaulitz met Ulrich Vikertom and talked with him about his childhood

Twins Bill and Tom Kaulitz are the judges of the new season of "Deutschland Sucht Den Superstar," a pleasant surprise from the TV channel RTL. Bill, without a doubt, is more striking twin.

As a child Bill Kaulitz knew he shouldn't be like others. Just that fascinated the former Tagesthemen spokesman Ulrich Wickert, who has
talked with Bill Kaulitz in a hotel in Berlin. For Bill Wickert is an icon of the news and this show, where he was seen. Now he is not a teenager, he is a mature young man.

Bill Kaulitz with his family couldn't believe in the fact that he will meet with Ulrich Wickert and spend a day with him. Bill told at a breakfast, what happened some time ago with his voice. Bill had cysts on his vocal cords and therefore had surgery. That was a bad time for Bill, because he didn't know what will happen. Of course, when you're as successful as a singer, the voice for you is really important.

Together they visited the famous recording studio, where Ulrich decided to talk about how Bill established his own identity. Bill told him that he and his brother looked identical until they were 6 years old, and they had to wear a sweater with names so kindergartener could distinguish them. Since 8 years, he and Tom began to change, and become completely different, and they used very extreme ways.

At school, Bill was very difficult, many people didn't like their looks, and he loved to makes fun with Tom. When he was told that it was impossible to come with painted eyes in school, the next day makeup on eyes was even more darker. In the end, Bill Kaulitz has admitted that it is all the same whether the people like him or not. The most important thing was for him not to be like everyone else and be true to himself.

Gustav Schäfer with fans at the airport in Tokyo, Japan (16.12.2010)

tvinfo.de: Tokio Hotel - the largest musical project from Germany over the past 10 years.

The group, which consists of identical twins Bill and Tom Kaulitz, has came to the scene with the release of their first single "Durch den Monsun" in 2005. After the release of their third album, "Humanoid" in early October 2009, the band has sold albums around the world in both versions, English and German.

Going on a world tour with the album, Tokio Hotel surprised their fans not only with songs, but also a huge futuristic scene, designed by Misty Buckley, designer of the "The Fifth Element." Bill's costumes gave concerts the originality: Dsquared ² designers Dean and Dan Caton did their best to become the center of Bill performances: fantastic hydraulic structures, floating in the air bridges, huge balls of fire and a spectacular light show.

On January 1st, 2013 they’ll show at 04:00/4am (German time) on the German TV channel 3sat, 45min of the "Welcome To Humanoid City" concert in Milan.

promiflash.de: The twins are different - That's why Bill Kaulitz doesn't look like his brother

At first sight, one would probably not come up with the idea that Bill Kaulitz (23) is a twin brother of Tom (23) because the two musicians are not really similar. At least in the choice of clothing and appearance the Kaulitz brothers are quite different. And that's a good reason.

Both Tokio Hotel-Stars, are especially important to be seen as individuals. It was not always this way: "When Tom and I were 6 or 7 years old, we were dressed all alike" says Bill. After that, the brothers developed very differently: "Later, our interests parted. Tom was listening very different music than I did, and we have evolved into completely different directions. Probably also because we were previously always perceived as twins. We have tried to create our own personality, and this happened especially with our appearance" says Bill in further conversation. In principle they have always been very extreme in everything. Tom had looked very extreme, Bill too and they were totally noticed, says the 23-year-old singer.

This is true because, after all the artists have made in a very particular way, has even help them to become famous in America.

erdbeerlounge.de: Bill Kaulitz: Make-up as a rebel?

Bill is always dressed stylishly, setting trends with his hair and he is always wearing make-up. That didn't start since his breakthrough with Tokio Hotel, he revealed in an interview now.

Can you imagine Bill Kaulitz without an eye-catching outfit, a crazy hairstyle and dark painted eyes? Probably not, because these are the hallmarks of the young singer.

Bill Kaulitz knew since his school days that he was different from the others. "I had it on my mind, and as long as I felt I was right I wanted the people to accept that. When I look back, I have made it extremely difficult. I could have made it much easier for me. More often people said, 'He can't come to school with painted eyes', and I made up my eyes darker the next day" Bill Kaulitz looked back in an interview. And the heavily made-up eyes have remained and become one of his big trademarks.

Bill: Is there anything more important for him than fashion and make-up?

The extroverted Bill Kaulitz knows that it's not always about looking good. "Freedom is very important to me. It was like this already when I was very young. I feel like as long as it is actually done correctly. I've always felt comfortable with the fact that there are people who don't like me. In the end this brings you forward somehow" says Bill Kaulitz.

Bill Kaulitz and where it has taken him until now, is probably not a question. With so much success you are allowed to love even those who hate you.

promiflash.de: Bill Kaulitz was already a rebel student

Bill Kaulitz (23) is, of course, something else: a very eccentric, fashionable fancy type flat. The singer of the band Tokio Hotel now declared in an interview that he has always been the opposite of what you would call "normal."

While he was still at school, he did his best to not comply with the standard, the new American Idol judge revea

led to the glamour. And that in his opinion, in retrospect, has not necessarily been beneficial: "I had my mind, and so long as I was in the right, I did that for other it is fine. When I look back, I know I have made myself extremely difficult. I could have made it much easier for me. The more often people said, 'He can not come with painted eyes to school', the makeup was darker on my eyes the next day. "Stark painted eyes Bill has still happening today, but with the difference that some fans in this regard even emulate him.

But more important than his appearance is that the star is already something quite different: "Freedom is for me the most important thing. That was so important for me even when I was younger. If you radiate a certain kind of freedom, love and hate are sometimes very close. I feel like as long as it is running, actually it's alright. I have always felt comfortable with the fact that there are people who don't like me. In the end this brings you forward somehow."

newspoint.cc: Bill Kaulitz defies criticism

Bill Kaulitz (23) can never prescribe something. "I've always chosen the difficult way," admitted the Tokio Hotel frontman ('Monsoon') in a recent interview with 'Glamour'.

In the end you will be successful

"I had it on my mind, and as long as I felt I was right I wanted the people to accept that. When I look back, I have made it extremely difficult.
I could have made it much easier for me. More often people said, 'He can't come to school with painted eyes', and I made up my eyes darker the next day." But this individuality, and perhaps stubbornness has helped the teen star with the wild hair experiments in a significant knowledge of life: "Freedom is very important to me. It was like this already when I was very young. I feel like as long as it is actually done correctly. I've always felt comfortable with the fact that there are people who don't like me. In the end this brings you forward somehow."

Demarcation from Tom

Bill Kaulitz always wanted to be that different from the others, and also he wanted to stand out from his twin brother Tom Kaulitz and develop an independent personality. "When Tom and I were 6 or 7 years old, we were dressed all alike," recalled the stage hero. "Later, our interests parted. Tom was listening very different music than I did, and we have evolved into completely different directions. Probably also because we were previously always perceived as twins. We have tried to create our own personality, and this happened especially with our appearance. We were always very extreme in everything. He looked very extreme, I looked very extreme and we were totally noticed."

The hard way, the one that Bill had chosen, seems to have paid off today, after all, because he and his brother were so different and now with their band 'Tokio Hotel' they got international success.
