A day like today, in 1989, the identical twins Bill & Tom Kaulitz were born in Leipzig, East Germany. They began their music career at an early age. In 2001, the two formed a band with Gustav Schäfer and Georg Listing at the age of 12. In 2005, they changed their name to "Tokio Hotel". Their single debut "Durch Den Monsun" won the No.1 in the charts of their home country, Germany.
They also actively support and reflect interest in Japan because of their band name "Tokio" and sold charity badges after the earthquake disaster.
